  • A Hindu school in Guyana: Saraswati Vidya Niketan

Heard of a Hindu school outside India?
Here is one in a country Guyana.

A private Hindu secondary school in Guyana ( a country in West Indies) has been creating history in the Caribbean.

It is Saraswati Vidya Niketan (SVN) founded and headed by Swami Aksharananda (original name: Dr. Odai Pal Singh, Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA).
The school has been producing students who have been excelling with 19 and 20 CSEC (CXC) passes [equivalent to London GCE and Cambridge O’Level] with distinctions.
Generally, students do poorly in Mathematics and English in CSEC in the Caribbean.
At SVN, 90 per cent of the students have passed these two subjects.
The college was opened in May 11, 2003 and has been financed by tuition fees and private donations.
For more info on Saraswati Vidya Niketan at Cornelia Ida, WCD, Guyana.
    For details, see http://www.svn.edu.gy/news.html
